Sprinkling method
Spraying is the application of pest control products in liquid form onto surfaces and harborages using specialized spraying equipment. It is one of the most versatile pest control techniques: it efficiently covers large surfaces and leaves a protective barrier with a residual effect against crawling and, in certain cases, resting flying insects.
How it works
Using manual or motorized spray pumps, a pest control solution is applied under pressure to the surfaces where pests travel or take refuge: floors, baseboards, walls, door and window frames, cracks, and crevices. The microdroplets settle and adhere, forming a film that retains its residual effect for weeks. Elimination occurs through direct contact: an insect walking over the treated surface absorbs the active ingredient.
The treatment is calibrated to each situation:
- Product type and concentration are chosen according to the target pest and the environment.
- Droplet size and pressure are regulated for good coverage without runoff.
- Targeted application to pest hotspots and routes is prioritized over indiscriminate spraying.
When it's used
Spraying is the reference method for controlling crawling insects —cockroaches, ants, arachnids, and others— and for creating preventive perimeter barriers. It adapts to:
- Residential: homes and housing units, with products of low toxicity for people and pets.
- Commercial: offices, shops, restaurants, and hotels, where discreet, safe control is required.
- Industrial and food: perimeters, warehouses, and service areas, integrated into a prevention program.
Advantages and considerations
Its great advantage is the residual effect: protection extends well beyond the day of application, unlike one-off treatments. It is a flexible method that adapts to the interiors and exteriors of all kinds of properties and allows targeted treatments with little product waste.
As a consideration, it acts mainly on the treated surfaces, so it does not penetrate closed cavities or large air volumes the way fumigation or thermal fogging would; in infestations that occupy ducts or false ceilings it is often combined with them. The duration of the residual depends on the surface, cleaning, and traffic, so follow-up inspections should be scheduled.
Safety and regulations
At Fucesa we select products of low toxicity for people and pets, registered with COFEPRIS, and we apply treatments in accordance with NOM-256-SSA1-2012. Trained personnel use personal protective equipment, dose according to the label, and indicate appropriate drying and re-entry times for each area, prioritizing the safety of the treated environment. We operate with a current sanitary license.
