Import cargo can introduce quarantine pests and hitchhiker pests that take advantage of the trip:

Risks to the operation

A pest in imported merchandise can lead to the cargo being held at customs, rejected, or ordered fumigated at the importer's expense, with the costs and delays that entails. If the pest reaches your warehouses, it can spread to other stored products, contaminate inventory, and turn into a permanent infestation that is hard to eradicate. The damage is not always visible when the container is opened, which is why inspection on arrival is key.

Standards and compliance

Bringing merchandise into Mexico is subject to SENASICA's phytosanitary requirements, and wood packaging must comply with ISPM-15 (NIMF-15) on import as well. We work with COFEPRIS-registered products, apply NOM-256-SSA1-2012, and document every service with records and traceability, so the evidence is ready for the authorities and for your internal control.
